How much does 3D printing cost in Bellingham?

Most small parts land between $25 and $75. Pricing is machine time plus material plus a $15 setup fee, with a $25 shop minimum. Desktop machine time is $3/hour and large-format is $8/hour; material runs $0.08/gram for PLA, $0.10/gram for PETG and $0.14/gram for TPU. Because machine time comes out of the model geometry, we slice your file before quoting rather than guessing — send it over and you will get a firm number, usually within one business day.

What is the largest thing you can 3D print?

Our large-format printer has an 800 × 800 × 1000 mm build volume — 31.5 × 31.5 × 39.4 inches. That covers full-size helmets and props, signage, architectural models, trade-show pieces, planters, and enclosures as a single part. Anything larger we can still make by splitting it into keyed sections that bolt or bond together, and we will design the joints so they land somewhere invisible.

What file formats do you accept?

STL, 3MF, STEP/STP, OBJ and F3D, or a ZIP if your project is several parts. 3MF is the best option if you have it because it carries units and colour assignments. If all you have is a sketch, a photo, or a broken part on your bench, we can model it from scratch at $85/hour with a 30-minute minimum.

I don't have a 3D model. What are my options?

Two routes. If something close to what you want already exists, browse MakerWorld and send us the link — thousands of models there are free, and we just print it. If it needs to be specific to you, we design it: from a sketch, from measurements, from photos, or by reverse-engineering a part that broke. Design is billed at $85/hour and we will give you an estimate before starting.

Which material should I choose?

Accepted Answer

PLA is the default — best surface detail, widest colour range, lowest cost, but it softens in a hot car and is not for outdoor use. PLA+ trades a little detail for much better impact resistance. PETG is the outdoor and higher-temperature choice and resists UV and moisture far better. TPU is flexible, for gaskets, grips, bumpers and anything that needs to bend. How long does a 3D print take?

Print time depends almost entirely on size and layer height — a small bracket may be under an hour, while a full-size large-format part can run several days of continuous machine time. We confirm the actual time when we slice your model, and quote a completion date with the price rather than after.

Question 7

Do you do production runs, or only one-offs?

Accepted Answer

Both. Multi-part runs are cheaper per unit because we nest parts to fill the plate, which typically cuts per-part cost by 30 to 50 percent compared with printing them one at a time. For very high volumes, injection moulding eventually beats printing on unit cost, and we will tell you when you have crossed that line instead of quietly taking the order.

Can you print replacement parts for something that broke?

Usually yes. Bring us the broken part, or the pieces of it. We measure it, model it, and print a replacement — often in a tougher material than the original. This is one of the most common reasons people call us, especially for discontinued appliance parts, knobs, clips, and brackets that are no longer sold.
